Mosquito home built ultralight heli

Only in New Zealand would you find such a machine. Weighing in at just over 250 lbs this tiny machine would sure be a fun fly! Powered by a 2 cylinder 2-stroke 60 hp motor, this little machine has plenty of power for all your common rotor wing maneuvers, and giving it a top speed of 70mph. Now THAT'S cool! Kits start at around $27k for your basic model as seen above. Check out the website Mosquito Aviation to see the different variations available.

Double Eagle

So maybe the Legal Eagle wasn't enough for you. The Legal Eagle wasn't enough for Leonard either, so guess what. Yup, that's right. He made a Double Eagle. instead of half a VW motor, it has a full one. Instead of one seat, now two!

Legal Eagal

Here's an interesting aircraft. Leonard Millholland released plans for this mean machine back in 1998. It's powered by half of a VW engine (Leonard's own design) which produces a mere 30hp. I've never actually seen one until recently and it certainly did catch my eye. It looks to be a fantastic little machine. A mazda 10a rotary  engine wouldn't be a bad replacement for the VW motor? have a look at all the details on his website
